Couple of questions about MAC makeup
i really want to try MAC makeup, apparently its sooo good, i want to buy a foundation, powder, lipsglass, lipstick, eyeshadow, mascara and eyeliner, i have saved up all my saving to buy what i want but i have a few quiestions that need answering before i go out and buy.
1. does Mac contain any parabens and other harsh ingredients?, will i be ok to use MAC if it does have parabens?, im very sceptical about things with parabens as its been found in breast cancer.
MAC used to be a go to brand for makeup artists, WAY back in the day. they had extremely high pigment levels, and offered a pro discount. fast forward many years: they were bought out by estee lauder, reduced the pigment while adding fillers, increased the price, and made a huge name for themselves, among consumers (not pros).
they offer a "pro" discount to anyone who will PAY for one (ridiculous, since most of us have multiple, free, discounts of 30% 50% off, and/or get free products, from other companies). most pro muas scoff at mac, now. i personally only have one mac item in my entire kit (a concealer that i mix with eve pearl concealer, to use on under eye areas).
bridal artists are more prone to carry it, since brides are generally not pro makeup artists, and only know brand names, not specifics or actual results, and the label recognition makes them feel they are getting what they pay for . film/ tv/commercial artists generally don use them anymore. too many better, cheaper products out there.
some of their shadows and lipsticks are lovely, though way more expensive than other, identical in payoff, products.
their foundations are FAMOUS for causing breakouts and allergic reactions.
for foundations: cinema secrets, graftobian, fortunate face minerals
concealers:cinema secrets and graftobian are so pigmented, you can use them as concealer, then sheer them down with moisturizer, to use as foundation
mascara: you need to throw away any tube of mascara, no later than 3 months after opening (most dry out be then, anyway), as they breed bacteria. maybelline makes the best formulas on the market, and every cosmetic company has spent many years, and millions of dollars, trying to copy the "great lash" formula. why spend $20 + on mascara? silliness.
gloss: rimmel makes excellent glosses
4. I mac cosmetics outlet reccomend you get the studio tech, their mineralize tinted lip baum which is pretty much a lip gloss. And there is this one mascara but Idk what it called but I remember that it has the word mac all over the tube but I did hear that they stopped selling it because the cap thing broke for A LOT of people but I think they are bringing it back soon, probably once they fixed that issue. But you can really trust any mac products just because they are such good quality but you can always go to the mac store and have one of the make up artists help you.
i have most of them things so heres my opinions:
foundation yes but it only stays on for a couple of hours, maybe ask for a sample first, and it will block your pores if you dont wash it of athe end of the day,eyeliner nooooooooooo soz but i got it and it only lasted a month at the most and i only used a small amount 3 4 times a week
mascara yes yes yes i love mine so much definitely worth the moneypowder i dont have but my friend has and says its amazing she has this onelipglass yeah but i find its a little dry butlip stick yay yessss so good stays on welleyeshadow im literally in love with this so yes.
